Allah is He who made a Prophet among the residents of Mecca.
Of the 4 things that are the duties of the Prodhet have to do with
intellect and not with the body. A Prophet recites the ayat of Allah
and a person without intellect cannot appreciate the ayat, a Prophet
purifies the soul and the person whose soul is being purified needs
to have an intellect and the Prophet teaches the Quran and only a
person with intellect can understand it. Animals are forced to use
that which they are told to do. They have no intellect. They expect
to obey and are forced to follow the commands of their owner. Their
Imam and Prophet are by force. Allah commanded the bee to make high
nests and the bees obedience makes honey for us. We still use the
honey of the bee. What of the person whose entire existence is in
the obedience of Allah should we not benefit from his 'honey'?
In the battle of Khyber the jews in the fort seemed to be getting
close to victory. In Khybhr Prophet stated that he would give the
alam to 1)one who fights 2)who does not flee the battle 3)who loves
Allah and 4)whom Allah loves. Thus he who got the alam the next day
would be the one who is loved by Allah. At fajr time the next day
all were anxiously awaiting with bated breath to see who the Prophet
would give the alam to. The Prophet looked around and then he asked
for Imam Ali. He was told that Imam Ali is in the tent with an eye
infection. When he was told that the Prophet has called him Imam Ali
stated Oh Allah none can stop if you want to give and none can give
if you want to stop. The Prophet applied his saliva in Imam Ali eyes
and he was cured.
The Prophet performed many miracles in his lifetime. On one instance
there were many hungry people with the Prophet. The Prophet
purchased a sheep from a shepherd. The animal was slaughtered and
the people were asked to eat the meat but leave the bones intact.
Then the Prophet touched the bones and they became a whole sheep
again and he gave it back to its owner. Prophet Jesus brought the
dead back to life also however in his instance there were intact
entire dead bodies. On see in and hearing of this miracle of the
Prophet no doubt should remain in our mind that on the day of
judgement we are all going to be resurrected.
There was a dry well and the Prophet put his saliva in it the well
and it promptly filled with water. There was another man who claimed
to be a Prophet but when he tried to repeat the same feat the well
ran dry.
Sangreza started speaking in the Prophet's hands. On the day of
judgement your organs will give witness in a similar fashion.
The Prophet is going to purify our souls. If you ask an alim to
purify your soul he will be unable to do so. If you ask him to help
make a najis cloth tahir he will ask you where is the cloth najis so
that I may make it tahir. The Imams and the Prophet on the other
hand could see your soul. A man came to Imam Ali and asked for his
soul to be purified Imam Ali sent him away. This repeated four
times. On the fourth time Imam Ali agreed. The man prayed and
thanked Allah for accepting his dua was glad that Imam Ali would
help him purify his soul. Imam Ali asked him to be put in the fire
due to the sins he had committed. The fire did not harm the man and
he survived as his sins were forgiven. The Prophet could see your
soul so as to be able to purify it. This was evident by his behavior
when asked to recite the namaaz e janaza. He would say takbir 4
times for a munafikh and 5 times for a momin on namaz e janaza. Thus
once the namaaz was done one knew what was awaiting the marhoom
person.
Imam Ali could see Ibn E Murjims soul and knew that he is going to
kill him. Thus when he came to give allegiance to him he stated that
this is my murderer.
In Sura Yusuf the Prophet Yusuf sought refuge in Allah and asked him
to protect him from committing sin. Thus it is evident that even his soul
was being pulled by the nafs e ammara. Thus those souls whöm Allah
has blessed will not listen to their nafs e ammara and therefore
avoid sin. Masoom have lutf e ilahi and thus can never sin.
Have you ever seen nafs e lawwama be quiet. It asks us to do more
prayer after you have recited two rakaat for shukrana. It asks us to
repeat hajj once we have completed our obligatory hajj. The nafs e
ammara asks you to eat more while the nafs e lawwama is telling you
that you have eaten too much. Islam is moderation. If you are not
pulled tow ard piety in excess or toward your desires Islam asks you
to pick the middle path. This then this is the right path. The sirat
e mustakheem.
If there is a hot tempered man then he should use his temper to
drive sins away. If he has desires he should desire good deeds. Men
have more anger and women more desire. If you recall your bachelor
days you were living in a single room apartment and were happy.
Once you got married you moved to a two bedroom apartment then a
house then a bigger house then a bigger car and so on. The desires
of the wife and your desire to keep her happy propagate this.
As long as you use your temper to drive sin away this is good but if
you use it on a friend it is a sin. You should use a show of temper
on your children but should not get angry to the point of hitting
them. Mans desires do not leave him till he dies. Those who have
moved to this country of creature comfort return often to India and
Pakistaan in search of peace and contentment. You should learn to be
content. Without contentment you have no peace of mind. This is the
situation here, and people use medicines here to counter this. The
shariat states he who truly loves Allah does not get angry nor does
he desire. Look at Imam Ali and Bibi Fatima's life. Once Imam Ali
got the command from the Prophet to do battle he was the most fierce
warrior otherwise he had no temper or desires. Once you get a
command from Allah or the Prophet you should follow it.
One part of you collects doubts. Doubts are collected and intellect
guides you. A person told me is alcohol prohibited but if I do not
get intoxicated is it prohibited for me. Moulana even if I drink 6
beers I am ok. I asked him define bear. Oh moulana it is only hot
barley water. I went and found out from the manufacturer and it has
only x% alcohol in it. Saudi Arabia has gone as far as manufacturing
a 'halaal beer'. Alcohol is haraam irrespective of its effects on
the intellect of the person. Even if alcohol is good for your heart
it is bad for your soul. Islam is strict in this matter because sin
attracts sin. The first time someone commits sin he is fearful and
his body is shaking with anxiety. As more sin is committed the
curtains of sin prevent him from hearing the nafs e ammara.
You are aware of the lie detector test. This is able to measure the
soul. What of the Prophet whom Allah states does not speak without a
wahi. If he declares that Imam Ali is moula of those for whom he is
moula why then do the muslims disagree. On the day of muabahila the
prophet took four people with him. The Prophet led carrying Imam
Hussain and leading Imam Hasan with his hand, Bibi Fatima followed
and Imam Ali followed her. These people were taken for mubahila to
invoke the curse on the disbeliveers. This is because these people
never lied and never disbelieved.
Imam Hussain also took his baby son with him to karbala. Zuhair was
going along with Imam Hussain but kept his tent separate. Imam
Hussain called him and after discussing with his wife and at her
instance he joined Imam Hussain. He told his wife that he divorces
her as he is going to join imam Hussain. Imam Hussain wrote a letter
to Habib asking him to come to Karbala. Habibs wife told him that if
he does not go to battle she will go. Habibs slave wanted to go to
the battle of karbala himself id Habib decided not to go. Habib
freed his slave and went to Kerbala.
